~ Crabby Quilt for Sale + More! ~

Having had my Etsy Shop for about 6 months now, I have decided that it's time to sell more than just quilt patterns.

I have decided to sell some quilts.
I will put up one quilt per week onto my Shop.

On that same week, (the first week only) I will offer that same pattern for a whopping 50% off!
(No discount coupon needed.)

I sold some quilts last year after being contacted through Etsy by interested buyers and decided that I (gulp) could indeed part with (most of) them.

But because I am so attached to these "children" of mine, I'm putting them out there ...
one by one.

(Not all of them will be available for purchase.  I'm not selling the ones I have hanging in my home.)

The first one up for sale is this baby ... "Feelin' Crabby". Her name is so ironic because she induces nothing but cheerfulness.

So check out the Sales and the Discounts over at my Shop.

I promise you'll be Feelin' Fabulous!

~ Breathe ~

On Saturday I attended a lovely baby shower and was given the simple job of purchasing some Baby's Breath to arrange in some Mason jars as part of the center pieces.

I had forgotten how much I love this simplest of flowers.

I took a little home with me after the shower and put it in my bathroom.

I am really enjoying this very green and white stage.  Once it hits the dried out stage, I may replace it ... but for now I am thrilled with it's simple, yet imperfect, beauty.

As I was downloading these pictures, they reminded me of this picture I took last summer at the beach.  I love it so much I printed it out to look at everyday here in my office.

It's kind of the Baby's Breath of the Beach.

~ Around Beauty ~

Thanks to an unexpected gift card this Christmas ... I bought myself an unexpected gift.
I bought this book Around Beauty by Barbara Barry.
I was well familiar with the work of Ms. Barry but I bought the book without so much as a flip-through preview while sitting on a bench at Barnes & Noble.

I was not disappointed.

The book itself is a work of art with a lovely grosgrain bookmark ...

I have spent more time contemplating the inside liner on this book than I have spent perusing other decorating books from cover to cover.

But what I love most about this "decorating book" is that I find it to be, first and foremost, a treatise on the creative process.

I love the creative process.
I also love to hear how it works in the minds of others.

As a result, I am treating this decorating book a little differently than the others.  I am reading every word and not just flipping through the pictures.

Although the pictures do make me drool ...

~ The View from Where I Sit ~

So ... contrary to my last post, I actually didn't get back to the business of sewing until yesterday.  And when I did, it wasn't on my new project from that post, it was on something more urgent, which shall be revealed later.

The moment I sat in my chair and looked around ... I felt soooo content and happy.  My studio is one of the smaller ones you will ever see, but it brings me so much joy to be there.

I snapped some pictures of my view from that chair as I work, and it got me to thinking.

What are YOUR views from YOUR chair where YOU work?

Here are mine:

The view from behind my command post, looking front right.

Front and left.

Directly to my left.
I'm pretty much obsessed with all things Sea Worthy.

Still looking left.  The TV is not on ... well ... because it's hardly ever on.
I do my best work in silence.
I blame that on having 4 children in 6 years.

This view directly to my right is the most colorful.
And I can't lie, one night in December ... for no particular reason ... I weeded and folded those fabrics.
Now I plan to add to them again.  That makes perfect sense ... right?

Now it's your turn.
Show me your views and comment with a link to them
.
I'm not trying to establish some sort of poor man's linky party.
I'm just nosy.

~ The Joys of my World ~

I have not generally used this blog to publish pictures of humans ... particularly those near and dear to me ... but I have spent the last 2 weeks with my nearest and dearest and this is what I have to show for it.

I spent 5 days with every single one of my children and grandchildren.
Under the same roof.
At the same time.
This is huge, people!

Hundred of pictures were snapped and texted and grammed.
To the point where these sweet and patient grandchildren were beginning to lose interest ...

And possibly getting a tad annoyed.

I received a number of lovely gifts for Christmas, but these were by far my favorites.

And how about you?
